The 2020 AnimeGame data breach is a credential incident affecting an anime-themed online gaming website. The external source reports 1,431,378 unique emails and local search contains 1,430,246 records, a difference of 1,132.

About This Breach
The three classes are emails, usernames, and salted MD5 password hashes. The measures do not mean unique people, active players, game accounts, or rows containing every field together. No inference can be made about the age at which an account was opened.
Phones, addresses, payments, IPs, dates of birth, private messages, purchases, and device data are not classes in this record. A record does not establish identity, an AnimeGame account or player role, game activity, password ownership or currentness, field co-occurrence, account takeover, or misuse.
Salted MD5 is not plaintext but is weak by current standards. If the old password genuinely belonged to the person and was reused elsewhere, it should be replaced with a unique password.
