About This Breach
The intrusion was attributed to the Russian state-sponsored threat group APT29 (Midnight Blizzard / Cozy Bear), which leveraged compromised employee credentials. While the attack led to the unauthorized access of internal corporate directory data, employee contact information, and encrypted credential hashes, TeamViewer confirmed that customer networks, source code, and product servers remained completely segregated and unaffected.
